It began as a simple idea:
“What if we could turn a Sunday drive into something worth filming?”
As a filmmaker working in the automotive space, I found that the best conversations, the best cars, and the best moments always happened off-camera. On the way to a shoot. At the petrol station. In the car park before the cameras were even switched on. So one morning, instead of organising a shoot, I invited a few friends for a drive around East Lothian — nothing big, just a casual loop with a good coffee stop at the end. I brought my camera out of habit. And something clicked.
That first run captured what car culture is really about:
Real people, Real stories. A shared love of driving cars that weren’t built for the internet but for the owner, that feeling of “belonging” you only get when you’re surrounded by like-minded enthusiasts
No brands.
No agenda.
No pressure.
Just engines warming up at sunrise to meet good friends. That day became episode one of something much bigger.
So the Coffee Run became a monthly ritual
